Burn-out and sporten
If you land in a burn-out it is extremely important that you rest but it is not necessary to completely stop with exercising. What is important in the combination of a burn-out and exercising is that you feel what you need and what your body can cope with. Since I've started exercising in the heated cabins I can feel my body getting stronger. And a strong body is good for the mind!
When I, Charline, found myself with a burn-out, I continued exercising as I had always done, running, hockey training and began with yoga ..... at all costs, but I had to from myself. Burn-out and exercising 'is a must', or so I read. I wanted to start with yoga and preferably also meditation. Until it was apparant that 'must do' didn't work for me. So I stoped everything but can tell you, from experience, that that's not the solution. Burn-out and exercising is possible but I needed to find a healthy balance.
More than just exercising in a heated cabin
What does work in the combination of exercise and burn-out is to build up slowly and feel what works for you. During or after a burn-out, bbb is the perfect place for this. The coaches not only help you with choosing a suitable exercise programme, they also look at your nutrition. I found out, for example, that there wasn't enough protein in my diet and together we made changes in my nutrition. As I was receiving help elsewhere for the mind aspect, I could focus on my body and nutrition. At bbb it was not only the combination of working on my burn-out and exercise but due to their holistic approach I was also able to look at my lifestyle.
Warmth and comfort
During my burn-out it became clear to me what I found important: safety, atmosphere and - I'm extremely sensitive - warmth. I was a bit nervous about burn-out and exercising, but that feeling quickly disappeared. During your workout in the cabin you are carefully watched and sometimes I would just relax in the childs pose. Wonderful in the heated cabins. As well as safety in the form of an intimate atmosphere and warmth, exercising in a heated cabin also gave me a safe and comfortable feeling. If you shut your eyes, you feel as if you are lying in your own cocoon.
Burn-out and exercise: feeling good about myself
What I love about bbb is their personal approach and the fact that you can do a good workout in 30 minutes in a nice warm cabin. Experiencing that my body is stronger than what I thought gives me faith in myself and a good feeling. A burn-out and exercise, especially the hot cabin work-out, helped me to regain my strength.
bbb is a sport school in a higher price class but it is more than just a sport school. If you find yourself with a burn-out or in a similar situation and you have the means, then I would definately reccomend it. Because burn-out and exercising can feel like a 'must' but at your own pace, it can give you strength.
