How do you start strength training as a woman?

Start with a clear goal and a workout suited to your starting point. You do not need to be fit first or already know every exercise. At bbb, a personal intake covers your experience, physical complaints and preferences. You then learn how to perform the exercises step by step.

Strength training with dumbbells at bbb health boutique

Learn the movement before increasing the load

Initially, choose resistance that lets you practise with control. A warm-up and easier practice repetitions help you prepare. Your coach can adjust position, range of movement and tempo. Light resistance can be a good starting point; further progress may eventually require more challenge.

Build a routine you can maintain

Two suitable strength sessions each week can be a practical target for many beginners. You do not need to start there immediately: begin with what is manageable and build gradually. Allow recovery between demanding workouts. A missed class does not need to be compensated for by training extra hard.
